HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
WHO ARE WE
‘WA’s surf, salty and sustainable marketplace’
Summer x Salt is a collective of passionate, salty folk who are all about positive environmental and social impact. Our beachside markets and events collaborate with local, non-for profits and social enterprises to highlight positive change in the community.
Aside from being a rad community, beachside market, Summer x Salt also strives to achieve 4 main goals:
-
Reduce the impact single use plastics are having on our oceans and land. We aim to be a 100% plastic-free, waste-free event.
-
Create meaningful connections amongst and within the salty lifestyle community & local industry
-
Provide a platform for local business, organisations and projects to connect with the community and gain exposure
-
Empower the local community to support local and value sustainability
We've had enormous success in achieving our goals through our events. Our vision and impact is always growing. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our special salty community.
A sustainable enterprise
More than just a market. With our strong values of community and sustainability, our stall holders are all aligned with these values in a big way. Sustainability is so important to us, so we aim for a 100% plastic-free, waste-free event.
All vendors are required to avoid single-use plastic, opting for biodegradable alternatives. Event waste is captured in our special compost trailer which we take to a facility and then convert to bioenergy.
Another key initiative in line with our goals of reducing the impact of single-use plastic is our very successful mug library, where mugs are available to the public to use for coffees and juices.
Get amongst it, BYO mug & save a turtle.
